Economizing on street lighting in Syanno

Street lights are switched out almost all night long, allegedly due to want of funds.

A reader of charter97.org has informed about problems with street lights in his town.

“In the town of Syanno, Vitsebsk region, street lighting is switched off almost all night. The administration of the region explains that by shortage of funds. Are they saying that in this way they are trying to economize on dwellers of the region? The chairman of the regional executive committee and the director of the Housing and Utilities service have had car crashes recently, and they need to repair their new cars,” the reader writes.

Representatives of the regional executive committee of Syanno denied comment on the situation to charter97.org, saying they “have heard nothing about that.”
