Dinamo Minsk' Gagarin Cup run ends in first round

Dinamo Minsk was eliminated from the KHL playoffs with a 1-7 loss to Jokerit Helsinki in their fifth game in the Western Conference quarterfinal series on 5 March.

Jokerit march on with a decisive 4-1 count.

Steve Moses (twice), Tomi Maki, Jere Sallinen, Juhamatti Aaltonen, Tommi Huhtala, and Petr Koukal all contributed to Dinamo's rout.

Charles Linglet scored the Bisons' only goal late in the match to deny Henrik Karlsson recording a shutout.

The first two games of the Gagarin Cup quarterfinal series were played in the Finnish capital. The Bisons celebrated their 3-2OT win in the opener. The Jokers took revenge with a 4-1 victory a day later and extended their lead with two wins (5-0 and 2-1) at Minsk Arena on 2-3 March.

In the previous six seasons Dinamo Minsk reached the Gagarin Cup playoffs two times, ending up the run in the first round in both times. In the 2010/11 season the Bisons lost the series 3-4 to Lokomotiv Yaroslavl. In the 2011/2012 season Dinamo Minsk picked up no victories in the series against Dynamo Moscow (0-4).
