In exchange, Minsk is expected to promptly resolve all “problems in trade and economic relations” with Moscow.

It was said by Russia’s prime minister Dmitry Medvedev, RIA Novosti reports.

“We will prolong the existing credit obligations. Of course, it is based on our understanding of partner relations. We have always helped and will help our partners. But our Belarusian friends should solve all problems that occur in trade and economic relations and do it promptly,” the news agency quotes Medvedev as saying.

Belarus plans to spend more than 4 billion dollars on foreign debt payments in 2015. The country’s total debt is 40 billion dollars.

The Russian government ordered the Ministry of Finance in 2014 to issue a $10mn loan to Belarus for the construction of a nuclear power plant.
