Chernobyl liquidator beaten by police in Yelsk

The man underwent a long course of treatment in hospitals of the Homel region.

Police officers of the Yelsk police department under command of major Aliaksandr Miadvedski used force and a chokehold against Vasili Siliverstau from Kalinkavich, a disabled Chernobyl liquidator (member of the clean-up team) and member of the organising committee to form the Belarusian Christian Democracy party (BCD), the BCD press service reports.

The man had to undergo a long treatment course in hospitals of the Homel region. A criminal case was opened against the policemen, but the police has been trying to hush it up for the fifth month.
