BRSM members broke customer's nose for stolen chocolate

“Voluntary guards” caught, mocked and handed a “thief” over to the police, though no stolen items were found on him.

Charter97.org learnt about the incident from businessman and activist Siarhei Shtoda.

“I saw the following incident when I was leaving the Almi supermarket in Partyzanski Avenue on Friday, March 6: shop assistants, security guards and BRSM activists [BRSM is a pro-presidential youth organisation] attacked a guy who allegedly stole a chocolate bar for his girlfriend for Women's Day. They injured his nose and called the police.

I tried to defend him and compensate for the damage, because the guy claimed he hadn't taken anything from the shop, but it was useless. There's nothing human in them if they are ready to kill for a chocolate bar. The guy was searched, but nothing was found on him. The police ordered him to enter the shop. He was then taken in an unknown direction,” he said.
