“Banana index”: Before – 18,900, after – 31,050

Costs for Lukashenka’s least favourite foreign fruit are skyrocketing.

The pictures have been sent by a reader of charter97.org Andrei Yakubouski. One of the pictures was made in Hyppo shop in Haretski Street, the other in DorOrs shop a day after.

“Bananas. I bought them at 18,900 yesterday, and today they are 26,900. It’s a knockout!” the reader writes.

“And this picture has been made in DorOrs shop in Shchors Street. The cost is like this already,” he writes.

We remind that during the recent press-conference Lukashenka spoke about bananas: “I do not eat bananas, and many of you don’t eat them either. We can do without it,” which triggered stormy reaction of netizens.
