Lukashenka has telephone conversation with Putin

The Belarusian ruler and the president of Russia had a telephone conversation on February 11.

According to BelTA, they discussed some organisational issues before the Normandy format meeting on Ukraine which is scheduled for afternoon. The presidents discussed topical aspects of the document which is currently being worked out at the level of delegations and will be submitted to the heads of state in the Normandy format.

Aliaksandr Lukashenka and Vladimir Putin “expressed mutual interest in the prompt resolution of the armed conflict in eastern Ukraine”.

The presidents of Germany, France, Russia and Ukraine are expected to arrive on the afternoon of February 11.
