15 Tax Benefits Maybe Abolished

The Ministry for Taxes and Duties of Belarus believes that tax benefits make up BYR35 trillion and must be abolished.

Today Ella Sialitskaya, deputy minister of Taxes and Duties, has informed journalists before the conference "Urgent Issues of Taxation in the Light of Amendments to Tax Legislation 2016", BelTA correspondent reports.

"All amendments to the tax legislation in 2016 can be divided into four parts. One direction is consolidation of budget revenues, first, at the expense of tax benefits. It is proposed to abolish more than ten tax benefits," Ella Sialitskaya emphasized.

She noted, by the assessment of the Ministry of Finance, the sum of tax benefits had been about Br35 trillion that had made 4.5% of the GDP in 2014. "Therefore, taking into account Lukashenka's orders at the meeting held in the current year and that dealt with issues of tax policy, inspection of tax benefits was held. Those benefits with no more relevance and efficiency are offered to be abolished," the deputy minister explained.

It should be reminded that over the past few years many taxes have been imposed: on dogs, roads, debts, on spongers and deposits.
