Ukraine has fulfilled all the EU requirements for the introduction of a visa-free regime with the European Union.

Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said it during a questions hour at the parliament on Friday.

"Ukraine has fulfilled all the criteria for introducing a visa-free regime," said Yatsenyuk.

According to Yatseniuk, the European Commission will release on December 15 a report on on the implementation by Ukraine of a Visa Liberalization Action Plan.

He stressed that Ukraine "deserves that the EU open its border to the Ukrainian citizens, as well as Ukraine to the EU."

Yatsenyuk is convinced: "The borders for the Ukrainian citizens will be opened."

As UNIAN reported earlier citing Die Welt, the European Commission plans to present a report with a positive assessment of the reforms in Ukraine and Georgia, and thus greenlight the lifting of a visa regime in the EU for Ukrainians and Georgians.
