Vasil Parfiankou Received Ukrainian Citizenship

The former Belarusian political prisoner, who is fighting in Donbas, has been admitted to Ukrainian citizenship.

It has been written on Facebook by a commander of the volunteer battalion “OUN” (the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists) Mikola Kokhanovsky, charter97.org informs.

“Friends, I would like to inform you: there is some progress in receiving citizenship by OUN volunteers. The first one of the OUN fighters has become a citizen – our friend Siabro.

Vasil Parfiankou, aka Siabro, is quite a well-known figure in Belarus, as a zealous fighter against Lukashenka’s regime. In Ukraine he is also renowned as a brave and disciplined fighter of the OUN. He has approved himself as a good soldier in Peski, he was wounded two months ago, and now he undergoes follow-up care.

The scheme of receiving citizenship by Siabro is the following. He filed documents with the migration service, then he was summoned by the SBU and asked why he could not return to Belarus. Siabro told that two criminal cases had been initiated against him in Belarus – for national-minded activities in Belarus, and second – for mercenary activities abroad, and namely in Ukraine. The SBU sent an inquiry to the Belarusian KGB, and the words of Siabro were confirmed. And so not long ago our fellow man received a passport of the citizen of Ukraine!

The conclusion is, finally, thanks God, there is at least some scheme of how foreigners could receive a citizenship of Ukraine.

Together we shall win! Glory to Ukraine! Lon live Belarus!” Kokhanovsky writes.

It should be noted that many Belarusians are fighting in Ukraine, and former political prisoners Vasil Parfiankou and Eduard Lobau are among them. Besides, several dozens of Belarusian citizens are fighters of the Right Sector squadron, and they have recently formed the Tactical group Belarus there.

On December 5, 2014 a public activist Vasil Parfiankou was released from Horki prison. Almost at once he left for Ukraine with his family – his wife and son. As it turned out, Vasil joined the volunteer squadron of the OUN and now is fighting against Russian militants in Donbas.
