Lukashenka Informed about Mass Arrests in Brest

On October 19 thirteen leading persons of ZAO Consul (private limited company) were arrested.

On October 20 Valery Vakulchyk, Chairman of the KGB, informed Aliaksandr Lukashenka, the dictator's press service informs.

ZAO Consul is one of the largest suppliers in agricultural sphere (foreign food additives, meal, abstergents, breeding animals, equipment and others).

"Using more than 40 controlled firms they took out currency abroad, evaded taxes and sold products to the final consumer with excessive prices," the statement says.

In total, Consul suffered 48 searches across Belarus.

"There were revealed and seized 36 stamps of foreign companies, the way shadow economy was controlled. More than $2 millions are seized. Besides, 106 property units, more than 100 cars and trucks are also seized," the statement says.
