International election observers in Belarus to hold press conference on Monday

The international observers monitoring the presidential election in Belarus will present their preliminary post-election statement at a news conference on Monday, 12 October, in Minsk.
The international observation mission is a common endeavour involving the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (OSCE/ODIHR), the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly (OSCE PA), and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE).
The statement will be delivered by Kent Harstedt, Special Co-ordinator and Leader of the Short-Term OSCE Observer Mission, followed by Reha Denemeç, Head of the PACE Delegation, James Walsh, Head of the OSCE PA Delegation, and Ambassador Jacques Faure, Head of the OSCE/ODIHR long-term election observation mission.
This common endeavour comprises some 400 observers from 38 countries, including 325 long-term and short-term observers deployed by the OSCE/ODIHR, 58 parliamentarians and staff from the OSCE PA, and 15 parliamentarians and staff from PACE.
