Viktor Shenderovich's concerts banned in Minsk

Ideologists do not allow a Russian writer to play concerts in Belarus.

Viktor Shenderovich wrote it on Facebook.

“I've received a phone call from Minsk with the invitation to have a concert there. I said I would be happy, but... And told him that I have been banned from visiting Belarus as an artist for already twelve years.

The agent answered that times change. I congratulated him. We agreed that he would get permission to organise concerts for me (you need official permission in Belarus) and we would start working.

This morning began with a flattering letter:

'Congratulations, Viktor! Your reputation remains firm. One can only envy. An official from the ideological department of the Minsk city executive committee called me today and said that you were not welcomed in the country as an artist. Accept apologies for the incident from me and millions of normal Belarusians. Life is long. I hope we'll finally see you.'

I don't doubt it! Times change after all,” he wrote.

Viktor Shenderovich is known for his criticism of the Russian and Belarusian rulers.
