Bronisław Komorowski: Response to Russia’s aggression must be very harsh

  • 26.01.2015, 15:05

Polish President Bronisław Komorowski called upon the EU to consider imposing new sanctions against Russia because of escalation of the conflict in Ukraine.

The report has been made by TASS with the reference to Reuters.

“In my opinion the EU response should be to deliberately raise the issue of toughening sanctions against Russia,” Bronisław Komorowski said.

Earlier US Vice President Joseph Biden agreed with Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko that Washington and Kyiv would insist on tightening sanctions against Moscow.

We remind that on January 24 a shelling of Mariupol’s residential area took place, which caused deaths of 30 civilians. The Ukrainian authorities say militants of the DNR are responsible. The OSCE special monitoring mission informed that the shelling of Mariupol had been carried out from eastern and north-eastern outskirts of the town, controlled by terrorists and Russian troops.
