The mother of the political prisoner waits for a meeting with her son.

Rushania Vaskovich said it to charter97.org in an interview.

“He wrote to us in December. Maybe they permit a long-term visit in February. We are waiting for a positive decision. A long-term meeting is an opportunity to touch him and be together for a while. It's not talking through a glass barrier.

I sent him a parcel with medicines, books and stationery. He received everything. It's not a spa. He has some minor problems with health, so I sent him the medicines he asked for. Thank God he is okay,” she said.

Yauhen Vaskovich was tried together with Artsiom Prakapenka and Pavel Syramolatau. He was sentenced to 7 years of imprisonment for an attempt to set the doors of the KGB office in Babruisk on fire. He was thrown to a punishment cell many times. The political prisoner was later transferred from a correctional facility to a prison in Mahilou as a “persistent violator of prison rules”.
