The Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe urged Russia to withdraw its troops from Ukraine.

It is said in the decision of the Committee, Interfax-Ukraine news agency reports.

“[The Committee] urged the Russian Federation to withdraw all its troops from Ukraine and refrain from any further military interference in Ukraine, including the supply of military assets to other parties, and to secure the border to avoid the illegal transfer of such assets,” the decision reads.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine calls the Committee's decision unprecedented.

“It's an unprecedented decision for the Council of Europe, another recognition by the authoritative international organisation of the presence of Russian troops on Ukrainian territory and Russian military intervention, which Moscow persistently denies. We welcome such a decision by the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe as another manifestation of the consolidation of the international community in support of Ukraine and the condemnation of Russian aggression,” the news agency learnt from a source at the Ukrainian MFA.
