A public activist Illya Dabratvor was detained and convicted for a T-shirt “Freedom to Political prisoners”.

The decision to arrest him was passed by the court of Leninski district of Minsk, a reporter of charter97.org informs.

On September 16 Illya Dabratvor came to attend the trial of Yury Rubtsou, an activist from Homel, in a T-shirt “Freedom to political prisoners”. He and three journalists were detained there. They were taken to the police department of Leninski district. After a while the journalists were released, and an administrative case was opened against Illya.

The trial was held in the court of Leninski district of Minsk, it was presided by judge Mikhail Khoma. Two false witnesses spoke in the court: policemen Khadok and Maskalyou, who claimed that Illya used foul speech and was aggressive, and they even felt a smell of alcohol. The judge refused to call as a witness Satsuk, a journalist of Belapan agency who was present during the detention, as well as any other witnesses, and refused to watch the video recording (the arrest took place right in the building of the court). As a result, Illya Dabratvor was sentenced under articles 17.1 and 23.4 to 20 days of imprisonment.

We remind that Illya Dabratvor, who had a T-shirt “Freedom to political prisoners” on, was detained before the trial over Homel-based oppositionist Yury Rubtsou.
