Opposition activist held in custody for weekend

Activist of the Zmena movement Vital Vasilkou, who disappeared on September 12, was “found” in the Partyzanski district court of Minsk.

He is charged with disorderly conduct (article 17.1 of the Code of Administrative Offences) and resisting a police officer (article 23.34). His case is heard by judge Natallia Dziadkova, Viasna human rights centre reports.

The activist spent the weekend at a police station.

Other Zmena activists, Pavel Vinahradau and Yahor Viniatski, were detained on September 12 and sentenced to 15 days in custody.
