The court of the Rahachou district convicted a former employee of the land surveying service of the district executive committee.

The official was found guilty of abuse of power. For two years, he was making reports on administrative offences that never took place. People mentioned in the reports didn't know they had violated the land legislation. The official paid many of the fines he had issued. He made about 160 fake reports.

The former official pleaded guilty. He was sentenced to three years of imprisonment suspended for two years and deprived of the right to hold posts relating to legal activities for a period of five years. He was fined 100 penalty units, BelTA reports.

According to prosecutors, the decision of the court has not taken legal effect yet and can be appealed against in a higher court.
