Poroshenko asks Lukashenka to be intermediary in talks

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has addressed the Belarusian dictator with a request to use Belarus as a negotiations venue to find solution to the crisis.

The phone talks between them were held on July 29 at the initiative of the Ukrainian side, BelTA reports.

The counterparts discussed a number of relevant issues of mutual interest.

"The President of Ukraine asked the Belarusian head of state to engage the Republic of Belarus as a site for negotiations involving all the parties concerned to solve the Ukrainian crisis. Alyaksandr Lukashenka agreed with this initiative,” said the press service of the dictator.
