US intelligence: Boeing shot down by pro-Russian separatists

A Malaysia Airliens plane was shot down by a surface-to-air missile in Ukraine.

The Wall Street Journal says it citing its sources in the American special agencies.

The US intelligence says the Malaysian plane was shot down by pro-Russian militants, CNN. reports.

“The missile that hit Flight 17 most likely was fired by pro-Russian separatists inside eastern Ukraine,” CNN says.

It said earlier a radar system saw a heat signature at the time the airliner was hit. Experts were analysing the trajectory of the missile to learn where the attack came from.

The Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 crashed in Ukraine close to the Russian border on Thursday evening. The plane was carrying 283 passengers and 15 crew members.
