The KGB does not say on whose initiative “senator” Vitali Kastahorau was stripped of the immunity.

The bodies with the right to open criminal cases – the Investigation Committee, the General Prosecutor's Office and the KGB – do not reveal the author of the initiative to remove the immunity of member of the “council of the republic” Vitali Kastahorau. There's no information whether a criminal case was opened and whether charges were brought, BelaPAN reports.

The press service of the “council of the republic” said on July 9 that the senator was stripped of his parliamentary immunity.

Kastahorau lost his immunity in accordance with article 47 of the law “On the status of a member of the House of Representatives or the Council of the Republic” of November 4, 1998, in connection with information from the law-enforcement bodies.

Kastahorau was appointed member of the “council of the republic” of the fifth convocation as a representative of the Mahilou region (he was proposed by Mahilou, Klichau and Slauharad districts). He is the director of Polytex private limited company.
