Homel residents invited to donate 50 rubles for Lukashenka's birthday

The campaign will last until August 30.

Activists of the Electronics Trade Union launched a campaign in Homel to collect money “for the 20th anniversary of the rule and the 60th birthday of the man who is slightly higher than God”.

Only banknotes of 50 rubles are allowed as donations, BelaPAN reports.

“Fifty rubles is the smallest banknote. Our goal is to collect a box of money and see what we can buy for this money, which is easily measured in boxes or kilogrammes,” Viktar Kazlou, the head of the regional department of the trade union, said.

The campaign will last until August 30. The initiators will then decide how to spend the money – to buy a gift or to organise a party in Homel.

Aliaksandr Lukashenka marks his 60th birthday on August 30.
