Baranavichy activists pay tribute to Kalinouski's insurgents

A group of activists in Baranavichy cleaned the memorial complex at the site of the battle of Milavidy of 1863.

As BelaPAN has learnt from Viktar Syrytsa, the chairman of the Baranavichy department of the Belarusian Language Society, the activists removed rubbish and planted flowers near the monument to Kalinouski's insurgents.

“We do it every year on the anniversary of the battle of Milavidy. We plan to come here again to cut the grass. Unfortunately, those responsible for the monument don't do it,” Syrytsa said.
