The Finance Ministry of Belarus wants to get a new loan from VTB Bank

The Finance Ministry of Belarus and VTB Bank are in talks about a bridge loan of up to $2 billion.

Deputy Finance Minister of Belarus Maxim Yermolovich told it reporters on 18 June.

“Now we are discussing the terms. Everything depends on the lending bank. We hope to close the deal by 1 July,” Maxim Yermolovich said.

Earlier, member of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission Sergei Rumas had told reporters that an agreement had been reached with VTB Bank to provide Belarus with a $1 billion bridge loan.

Speaking about the $2 billion interstate loan agreed with Russia, Maxim Yermolovich informed: “We expect to get the money in July”.
