Putin asks separatists to reschedule “referendum” in Ukraine

Russia asks the attackers who had taken over towns in eastern Ukraine to reschedule the referendum of May 11 to a later date.

As said by Vladimir Putin, it is essential for creating necessary conditions for its holding, ITAR-TASS reports.

Russia’s president has stated that the situation in Ukraine is following the worst case scenario.

Vladimir Putin as also said that the early presidential election, organized by the government of Ukraine are a move in the right direction.

“But this election would not fix anything if all citizens of Ukraine will not understand how their rights are guaranteed,” he stressed.

The pre-term presidential election in Ukraine is to take place on May 25. Earlier the West repeatedly accused Russia of attempts to hinder this election. According to the law of Ukraine, there is no obligatory voter turn-out for it and the result of the vote is to be recognized with any number of participants.
