Belarusians can enter Crimea on special permits

  • 23.05.2014, 17:19

It will be rather difficult for Belarusians to enter the peninsular, which was occupied by Russia, from Ukraine.

The law “On ensuring the rights and freedoms of citizens and legal regime on the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine” came into force. According to the law, foreign citizens are allowed entering Crimea from Ukraine only with a special permit through checkpoints, Komsomolskaya Pravda v Belarusi writes.

Taking into account that buses and trains from Belarus to Crimea go through the territory of continental Ukraine, Belarusian tourists may have problems with visiting the peninsular. Going from Belarus to Crimea through Russia is expensive and takes much time.

Violations of the rules of entering and exiting Crimea are punished with a fine or a term in custody of up to 15 days.

BelaPAN news agency failed to learn from Ukraine's cabinet of ministers when the permits will take force.
