Hrodna human rights activists, who posted on the internet their picture with a Ukrainian flag, got detained by police.

Hrodna human rights activists Viktar Sazonau, Uladzimir Khilmanovich and Raman Jurhiel took pictures with Belarusian and Ukrainian national symbols on 25 March at several historic sites in Hrodna and posted these pictures on the internet. This was their way of paying respect to the Freedom Day and expressing solidarity with Ukrainian people, Radio Svaboda reports.

Today they were summoned to a police station and three protocols were composed against each of them for arranging non-authorized events, in fact, for each of the pictures.

At 3 p.m. they will be put on trial in the building of Hrodna’s Lenin police department. At the moment they are in police custody.
