Russians and Crimea residents identified among Slovyansk attackers

Journalists identified several militants in the Donbass region.

The identity of militants was uncovered with the help of social networking websites, Ukrainian Policy writes.

Evgeny Ponomarev, a 39-year-old native of Belorechensk, Krasnodar Krai, Russia. He is a registered Cossack. He is active in the Terek Cossack community, and featured in many photos in Kramatorsk and Slovyansk. He even has a photo with self-declared Slovyansk mayor Vyacheslav Ponomarev.

Tikhon Karetniy, a Cossack, a native of Belorechensk, Russia.

Evgeny Kovalyov, a native of Belorechensk. Appears in some photos wearing Terek Cossack uniform.

Anton Morozov, a native of Irkutsk, Russia. His main profile shows him in military fatigues. Photos contain neo-Nazi imagery (burning an Israeli flag).

Alexander Ganchev was noticed in Crimea. His account contains videos of combat assault trainings. A member of communities devoted to Berkut, Russian March, airsoft groups. His current city is listed as Horlivka, Ukraine, and he finished a school in Makiivka.

Igor Georgievsky, a native of Simferopol, Crimea. He is seen at the Slovyansk airfield in the Donetsk region, which was seized by the separatists.

Evgen Zloy, a member of a paramilitary group in Slovyansk. He is a member of the group Don Cossack.

Edvard Pitersky. He lists himself as residing in Kharkiv and a member of the Oplot fight club. He is a member of the communities supporting Berkut, Antimaidan and joining of Ukraine's southeast to Russia.

Dima Kharkovsky. He claims a picture of him wearing camouflage uniform was taken in Slovyansk. He is a member of the Oplot fight club.
