Chechen shoots at group of Belarusians in Moscow metro

A native of the North Caucasus opened fire from a non-lethal gun in the Moscow metro.

Two men, one of whom is currently in a coma, were injured. The offender was detained by the police, Interfax reports.

The incident took place at 1 a.m. on a train between the metro stations of Park Kultury and Kropotkinskaya. A 27-year-old man from the Achkhoy-Martan district of Chechnya had a conflict with four citizens of Belarus. During the brawl, the man shot several times at his opponents. One of the Belarusians, a 25-year-old man from Kobryn, was seriously wounded in the head and taken to hospital in a coma. His friend suffered an abrasion and received medical assistance on site.

The offender was detained. A criminal case was opened for causing grievous bodily harm. The man may face up to 8 years in prison.
