Arkadiy Babchenko: This war will be the last in Russia’s history

Russia will soon stop existing.

This is what a famous Russian journalist Arkadiy Babchenko said speaking to Radio Svaboda.

“In its foreign policy Russia has taken the imperial development vector. This means seizure and accession of not the best lands, which it does not need altogether even for free.

However, the whole point of an empire is for it to expand. If it does not expand, it stops existing. For Vladimir Putin to be able to hold his power, he will have to expand the empire. He does not have another option now.

This will, of course, lead to a war. When this will happen – in a week in Ukraine, in two years in Moldova or in five years somewhere in Belarus – I do not know.

But this policy will end in one thing – a war. This war, I am afraid, will be the last in Russia’s history, and I am afraid, Russia will stop existing in the borders we know it now. We are entering the final stage of the country’s breakdown”, - the journalist stated.
