Banks sell dollars at 10,000 rubles

The exchange rate has reached 10,000 Belarusian rubles per dollar in Belarus.

The official exchange rate is 9,940 rubles per dollar, but currency exchange offices have higher rates. This morning, the dollar has reached a psychological landmark of 10,000 Belarusian rubles, Nasha Niva informs.

This exchange rate was offered by BPS-Sberbank. Other banks don't risk proposing this rate. For example, Belarusbank sells dollars at 9,995 Belarusian rubles.

The buying rate is 9,920 rubles per dollar, but most Internet shops set a rate of 10,000 rubles.

The dollar and the euro have grown against the ruble 4.5% and 5% respectively since the beginning of the year. The Belarusian currency has strengthened against the Russian ruble more than 5%.
