Opposition party member killed in Mahilou

A member of the Belarusian Social Democratic Party (Hramada), Artur Lukyanau, was killed in Mahilou.

The activist, 30, was found on March 6 with numerous stab wounds in the flat he has been living in for a long time. A suspect is reported officially to have been detained. Details are not available yet, Radio Svaboda informs.

Fellow party members of Mahilou say the death of Artur Lukyanovich is not related to his activity in the opposition organisation. They say he was a calm and friendly person.

Artur Lukyanau worked as a paramedic for the emergency medical service.
