The court of Vaukavysk district considered today the case of Vital Hulak, who held a picket supporting Ukraine on 13 March.

The case was considered by the chairman of the court Valer Barjeka. Hulak’s actions were re-qualified from part 2 of the article 23.34 of the Code on Administrative violations to part 1, and the court fined the activist for 100 basic units (1 million 300 thousand roubles) for violating the picketing procedure. The court ruled to destroy the Ukrainian flag and the banner, volkovysk.by reports.

According to Hulak, the policeman testified in court that he was near the park by accident, that he was walking on the street and saw him with a weird bag. Since he knew who the activist was and the elections were approaching, he came closer and observed.

The article incriminated by the court provides for a warning, a fine for up to 30 basic units or an administrative arrest.
