Paramedics beaten in Svetlahorsk

The incident took place on Saturday, November 8.

An ambulance arrived on a call at a block of flats in Palesse city district, Gomelskaya Pravda newspaper writes.

A woman had a high temperature and felt sick, so her son decided to call an ambulance. According to Siarhei Piatrenka, the head of the ambulance station at the Svetlahorsk central hospital, another person, supposedly the man's brother, called some minutes later and asked in an aggressive tone why the ambulance didn't arrive yet.

A paramedic called later and said that the driver had been beaten. The man apparently decided to move from words to actions, though it took the ambulance only a few minutes to arrive, the head of the emergency ambulance service says. The police was informed about the incident.

The driver is at hospital with head injuries and a brain contusion, according to Siarhei Piatrenka.
