MiG-29 crashes in Brest region

A spokesperson for the Investigation Committee, Yulia Hancharova, wrote it on Facebook.

“An investigation team of the main investigation department has been dispatched to the plane crash site in the Brest region. Aliakssei Volkau, the first deputy head of the Investigation Committee, went to the scene for coordination. Investigators work in close cooperation with the Ministry of Defence of Belarus. We will keep the media up to date with the developments,” she said.

Charter97.org learnt from the Ministry of Defence that the crashed plane was MiG-29.

“A MiG-29 aircraft of the 61st Fighter Airbase of the Air Force and Air Defence Command crashed during a scheduled flight at about 13:30 today as a result of an emergency. The pilot ejected. No casualties or damage on the ground have been reported. The pilot has been found and is in good health. A special commission has been formed to investigate the causes of the incident,” the ministry says.
