Rosselkhoznadzor rejects 16 tonnes of products of Slonim meat packing plant

More than 16 tonnes of chilled beef produced at the Slonim meat packing plant was returned to Belarus.

Charter97.org learnt it from the press service of Russia's agricultural watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor.

“The reason for the detention of meat is the fact that issuing certificates to the Slonim meat packing plant should be suspended due to forged veterinary documents on the plant's products that was revealed earlier,” the Russian veterinary and phytosanitary agency says.

In view of the revealed violations, Rosselkhoznadzor sent the Belarusian Ministry of Agriculture and Food a request to suspend the certification of products of the Slonim and Biaroza meat packing plants for exporting them to Russia.

It became known yesterday that Rosselkhoznadzor rejected 15 tonnes of poultry from Belarus.
