The workers of Babruisk plant of tractor parts and units raise voices against their discharge.

One of the participants of hunger strike, Mikalai Zhybul informed Radio Svaboda that the strike started at 10 a.m., Its participants have met at Babruisk City Council and are waiting for the answer.

“There are only four of strikers. Some people who feel sorry for us will join later. We have proposed to our Mayer to meet but still got no answer. We will act as the situation requires. At the moment we do not intend to stop a hunger strike. We want us to hear; we want to work, that is our constitutional right”, said Mikalai Zhybul.

In 5 November the discharged members of the Belarusian Independent Union from Babruisk plant of tractor parts and units claimed that they start a strike. They said they would go for a two days strike and if nothing was done they would continue it in Monday.

The activists consider that they have been illegally discharged. By means of this hunger strike they have been trying to pay everyone’s attention to members’ of the Belarusian Independent Union persecution.
