Devaluation of the Belarusian ruble should be a little quicker, though there should not be a landslide of devaluation.

This statement has been made by Belarusian Vice Premier Uladzimir Syamashka, “Interfax” iforms.

“I have always been an adherent of an idea that in the country with an open economy the national currency should be weakened a little more quicker than other currencies (devaluation in the neighbouring countries),” the official said on Friday addressing the Belarusian parliament.

He attracted attention of “the deputies” to the devaluation processes in Russia.

“That is why I believe that the Belarusian ruble should become weaker a little bit quicker than it is happening now. But devaluation should certainly take place gradually,” the first Vice Premier stressed.

Syamashka expressed an opinion that a quiet devaluation of the Belarusian ruble would give an effect of growth of Belarusian products’ exports.
