Official Minsk blackmails EU

Ambassadors of EU countries were called to the Belarusian MFA.

According to the sources, the MFA insisted on lifting targeted sanctions against Belarusian officials. The question was raised by head the MFA's department Dzianis Sidarenka.

“Official Minsk is displeased with the position of Brussels that is not able to evaluate properly Lukashenka's new rhetoric as well as the 'release' of Bialiatski and the 'peacekeeping mission' in the Ukrainian issue. The Belarusian side strongly insists on the liquidation of the blacklist rather than on removing certain names from it,” the source says.

However, not all heads of diplomatic missions accepted the role of a guilty schoolboy. They reminded MFA officials about 2010, a new criminal case against Yury Rubtsou and the crackdown on activists.
