Dinamo Minsk topped by SKA at home

In an even hard-fought game between the teams from the different parts of the league’s standings Dinamo Minsk fell 2-3 to SKA Saint Petersburg in a regular KHL hockey game.

The scoreless tie was broken by the visiting team early in the second period. Alexander Kitarov evened the game five minutes later and Andrei Stas gave his team a lead on a powerplay goal at 38:14. Alexander Barabanov leveled the score early at the final interval before his teammate Roman Cervenka scored on a power play what turned to be the decider with two and a half minutes left to play in regulation.

With 46 points after 49 games the Belarusian team remains at the bottom of the West. The Bisons have one more home game before the 2014 Olympics in Sochi. Dinamo host Lokomotiv Yaroslavl on 29 January.
