“House of representatives” wants to finish private business off

  • 16.01.2014, 10:10

Members of the “house of representatives” propose imposing a new tax on sole proprietors.

The news is spread by the website of the association Perspective.

The initiative of imposing a new tax belongs to MP Viktar Valiushytski. He explains it with the necessity to increase competitiveness of domestic goods. The MP proposes the government to introduce a local sales tax on the goods produced outside the Customs Union. According to him, the tax should be paid by “retail traders, including sole proprietors”.

“It would be expedient to spend the revenues of the local tax on reimbursing government's grants to utility companies of a particular region to increase competitive ability of home-manufactured goods. Local tax revenues can become a source of removing the burden of cross-subsidisation from industrial enterprises to retail sales of third countries' products,” the MP thinks.

The business department of the Ministry of Economy invites business organisations to express their opinion on the proposal.
