Photo fact: Dictator without retouching

  • 27.09.2013, 8:54

The Kremlin's press service showed the unusual for Belarusians appearance of Lukashenka.

Belarusians usually see photographs of Lukashenka after Photoshop editing. The president's press service tries to depict him younger and more vigourous than he really is. Other journalists, especially those working for independent media, cannot take photos of Lukashenka. Belarusians have little chance of seeing the “real” dictator.

This time the opportunity was given by the press service of the Russian president. The photos of Putin and Lukashenka made during the final phase of the military exercises Zapad 2013 show the Belarusian ruler in an unusual way. He looks old and rather tired.

It should be noted that contrary to expectations, Putin and Lukashenka didn't make a joint statement following the military maneuvers.
