Kremlin counts on meeting between Putin and Lukashenka

The Russian president may meet with the Belarusian ruler during the CSTO summit.

It was said by Vladimir Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov, Interfax reports.

“Lukashenka will really participate. His participation was confirmed and, of course, we count on a meeting between them,” Dmitry Peskov said.

He added that meetings on the sidelines of the summit will be held with all participants.

A meeting of the Collective Security Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO) is scheduled for September 23 in Sochi. The summit will focus on a range of important issues on the development of the military component considering the current situation in the world. A communique will be adopted following the meeting. The CSTO Collective Security Council summit has more than 10 topics on the agenda.
