The third Tor-M2 battery will be put into service of the Belarusian army by late November – early December, Belarusian Defense Minister Yuri Zhadobin told media on 11 September.

BelTA has learned that once the third battery is put into service, the Belarusian army will have a complete artillery battalion based on new-generation weaponry. The Defense Minister added that Belarusian missile troops had no complaints about this kind of armament. “I am glad that the head of state has made the decision, that the possibility of budgeting the purchase of the first artillery battalion of Tor systems has been approved,” noted Yuri Zhadobin.

The official also said that the Belarusian Tor-M2 batteries fired live missiles at the Ashuluk firing range in Russia on 4 September. The Belarusian systems destroyed three targets using four missiles. Two missiles were fired at one target simultaneously in order to practice certain defensive tactics. “The results are better than expected,” stated the Belarusian Defense Minister.
