The mother of Uralkali CEO, who was detained in Minsk and placed in the KGB remand jail, has been denied a meeting with her son.

The woman left Minsk, Interfax learnt from Russian lawyer Alexey Basistov.

Basistov says he has left Belarus too. He declined to say how many Russian lawyers remain in Minsk to defend Baumgertner.

The planned meeting of arrested Uralkali CEO Vladislv Baumgertner and consular employees of the Russian embassy scheduled for August 29 was postponed until Friday by the decision of an investigator, he says.

“We haven't had a meeting today. It was postponed until tomorrow by an investigator,” Basistov said. He added that the “decision was unmotivated”.
