The Prime Minister of Belarus has submitted a resignation letter.

Charter97.org received an e-mail with this information.

The letter says that the resignation of the prime minister is caused by the arrest of Uralkali CEO Vladislav Baumgertner. Miasnikovich is said to haven't known about the planned arrest of the Russian businessmen after a meeting with him. The resignation of Mikhail Miasnikovich has an aim to improve his image in the eyes of public and businessmen, the letter underlines.

Mikhail Miasnikovch's press service says there's no information about the resignation and the PM has a number of scheduled meetings today.

Uralkali CEO Vladislav Baumgertner was arrested in Minsk on August 26 after his meeting with Mikhail Miasnikovich. The Belarusian investigative agencies suspect him of abuse of power. Four executives of the Belarusian Potash Company were put on Interpol's wanted list for abuse of power for personal gain that inflicted significant harm to the state and public interests of Belarus and caused gross damage to Belaruskali company and BPC.
