Besides the Minsk Tractor Plant (MTZ), another Belarus's leading enterprise – MAZ – has been hit by staff outflow.

Workers of the plant comment on the rumours about a great number of employees leaving one 0f Belarus's biggest plants.

A worker of the Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ) told Salidarnsts website on conditions of anonymity that from 12 to 15 people quit the plant every day. They are mainly recent graduates of vocational schools who have worked a mandatory period at the plant.

“They all want to have at least 8-10 million rubles. To earn this wage at MAZ you need to have 5-10 years of work experience. Beginners are promised 3 million in some workshops. But no one can earn much at once. So disappointed young workers quit.”

As charter97.org reported earlier, many workers quit the Minsk Tractor Plant without the promised wages. Managers of the plant continue to say the enterprise has no problems with sales.

The electronic industry trade union received pictures of the MTZ warehouses filled with unsold tractors. Plant workers said at a meeting with trade union leader Henadz Fiadynich that many people left the plant because their wages had fallen since the beginning of the year.

Henadz Fiadynich said that MTZ recently published jobs ads for more than 15 positions, which shows a high turnover of staff.

As for the pictures from the plant, the trade union leader supposes that Lukashenka's task to unload inventories in summer has turned out to be impossible.
