Student from Vitebsk sells weapons to pay tuition fees

Russia’s police and Federal Security Service have arrested members of a gang that smuggled weapons and ammunition from Belarus, said the press office of the Bryansk province’s police department.

The arrested suspects include residents of the province, which borders on Belarus, and a 49-year-old Belarusian citizen. According to investigators, it is the Belarusian who smuggled weapons to the province through the border.

Seven pistols, three revolvers, two carbines and more than 100 cartridges of various calibers, as well as a telescopic sight and a sound suppressor were seized from the suspects.
