Escaped prisoners in Hrodna region were caught

The three prisoners who escaped from a correctional facility in the Hrodna region last week were captured thanks to a tip-off from a member of the public, the police said.

Yury Bahachow, Alyaksandr Kuprynovich and Ivan Arbachauskas, who escaped from their prison on June 15, were apprehended close to a village in the Hrodna region's Shchuchyn district on Wednesday noon. Police had started scouring the area after receiving a report that three suspicious strangers had asked locals for directions.

Police officers were led to the trio by a sniffer dog. The men offered no resistance to the police.
